Dual Enrollment Program
In Partnership with Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC)
Banning High School is proud to offer a Dual Enrollment Program in collaboration with Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC). This program provides qualified junior and senior students the opportunity to earn college and high school credit at the same time, giving them a head start on their college journey while reducing the cost of higher education.
Purpose of the Program
The MSJC-Banning Unified School District Dual Enrollment Partnership is designed to:

Expand student access to affordable college-level coursework

Provide rigorous academic and occupational experiences

Help students transition to college or careers

Enable students to satisfy both high school and college requirements

Reduce the overall cost of earning a college degree
Eligibility & Requirements

Students must be in 11th or 12th grade and meet academic qualifications

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for academic transferable courses

Students must complete the college matriculation process, which includes:

MSJC application

Assessment
-
Orientation
-

A Parent/School Agreement Form must be submitted

Courses will appear on both college and high school transcripts (not labeled as dual-credit)

No tuition is charged for dual-credit courses taught at the high school site
-
Enrollment is open to the public, and course offerings are jointly selected by BHS and MSJC
Program Policies
Dual enrollment courses are subject to all MSJC and BUSD policies and procedures, including:

Academic standards and instructional procedures

Faculty, staff, and student conduct guidelines
-
Discipline protocols, which are addressed collaboratively between MSJC and BHS
-
Access to MSJC resources, such as the library, tutoring, and student ID cards
Advising and Support
Academic advising for dual enrollment students is a joint effort between Banning High School and Mt. San Jacinto College to ensure students select appropriate courses and stay on track.
